Italiano: Il ritratto fu inventariato nel 1890 come un dipinto di Frans Pourbus il Giovane, autore di due ritratti documentati di Maria (uno nella Galleria Palatina, l'altro agli Uffizi). In realtà documenti della Guardaroba medicea rivelano che il ritratto è una copia da Pourbus realizzata dal pittore Giovanni Lionardo Henner, allievo di Giovanni Bilivert, e registrato l'11 luglio 1628.
English: This portrait was inventoried in 1890 as a painting from Frans Pourbus the Younger, author of two documented Maria's portraits (one in the Galleria Palatina, one in the Uffizi Gallery). Actually documents from the «Guardaroba medicea» (Medicean cloakroom) reveal that the painting is a copy from Pourbus made by painter Giovanni Lionardo Henner, a Giovanni Bilivert's pupil, and registered on 11 July 1628.
