Description
Deutsch: Am 9. November 1913 eingeweihte Gedenktafel zu Ehren des preußischen Offiziers Friedrich von Hellwig. Die Tafel ist über dem Eingang des Wanfrieder Rathauses (Marktstraße 18) angebracht. Auf der Tafel ist folgender Text zu lesen: "Am 18. April 1813 überfiel der Freischarenführer Major Hellwig mit seinen Husaren die feindliche Besatzung Wanfrieds und nahm sie gefangen. Für diesen kühnen Reiterstreich zeichnete sein Koenig den Helden als ersten mit dem eisernen Kreuz erster Klasse aus"
