Nederlands: U-buis met kwik voor de Cailletetpomp. Het glycerine I voor de zuiger (rechts) diende als smeermiddel. Via de U van kwik (F) werd het gas links samengeperst zonder dat er verontreinigingen bij konden komen. (Bijschrift uit de bron.)
