English: Heaton Park Tramway, Blackpool Brush Car 623/286. Former Blackpool Corporation tram number 286 climbs the incline after passing the tramway museum in Heaton Park. This photograph was taken during the tramway's "Blackpool Themed Weekend" when all trams in service were ex-Blackpool. Built in Loughborough by the Brush Electrical Engineering Company, car 286 entered service with Blackpool Corporation in July 1937 and has had several modifications over the years, being renumbered 623 when the full fleet was renumbered in 1968. Its last day of service was 8th November 2009. 623 was transferred to Heaton Park in 2011 and was officially launched into service with the tramway on 22nd January 2012. |
