DESCRIPTION Postcard of "the Oldest house in Keene", the Heaton house, built circa 1750 by Seth Heaton, one of the proprietors of Upper Ashuelot. It is located at 500 Marlboro St. and has been extensively remodeled. The house was built across the pathway from Heaton's first house, a log cabin which was burnt by the Indians in 1747. Four of Seth's sons were Revolutionary soldiers. He left the house to his youngest son, Samuel when he died in 1787.
