| Description |
English: Heathland north of Ferny Crofts, New Forest This patch of dry heath is on the high ground of Yew Tree Heath, to the north of Ferny Crofts (the Hampshire Scouting centre, hidden in the trees in this photo). This area of heath must have been burned in the past couple of years, the heather is healthy and only ankle-high. To the west of the Ferny Crofts access track (off to the right) the heather is bushy and knee-high, with plenty of gorse. The whole of this area is criss-crossed with animal tracks. |
