Chau Doc est une ville vietnamienne au nord du delta du Mékong, à la frontière avec le Cambodge. Elle est située sur le fleuve Bassac (un bras du Mékong) où sont élevés des poissons-chats (Ca Ba Sa), la principale ressource de la région. Plusieurs communautés vivent à Chau Doc : des vietnamiens, des chinois, des chams, des khmers
