Summary[edit]

Description

The former command post of the Border Brigade 8 is now officially accessible. This is the access tunnel after the camouflaged building in the woods. The external shots I already took in 2016, are not part of this series of photos but in the album.

This facility was built for a personnel of 100 people from 1962 to 1963. The camouflage above the main entrance was built in 1966. In 1987, as in many other facilities, the ventilation and filtration system was renewed. 1994, the military entity that used this bunker was dissolved, but the facility was still maintained. It was even invested in this still secret faclilty and the dehumidifier system renewed in 2012. But already in February 22, 2013 the bunker was declassified.

In 2016 it was put up for sale. The municipality of Haslen has bought it 2018 and left to an association to operate it as a museum. A really worth visiting facility, well equipped and with many documentations. The only disadvantage is, that it is difficult to reach by public transport and on foot. These photos show some impressions and it's not a complete documentation. The dangerous ascents to exhaust system and emergency exit are not accessible. Switzerland, Aug 31, 2019. (1/23)
