Summary[edit]

Description
English: Portrait of Lady, inscribed "The Lady Burow". Black and coloured chalks on pink-primed paper, 27.3 × 19.8 cm, Royal Collection, Windsor Castle. The drawing has suffered from considerable rubbing; the outline of the face on the right and of the eyes has been lightly worked over by a later hand. The inscription, added at a later date, may not be accurate. Attempts by scholars to establish who "Lady Burow" (perhaps Borough or Burgh) was have not, in the opinion of art historian K. T. Parker, been convincing (Parker, pp. 47–48).
