Na východnom okraji Šarišskej vrchoviny, na kopci Furča nad obcou Haniska, okr.Prešov, región Šariš stojí monumentálny Pomník sedliackeho povstania. Bol postavený z iniciatívy Jubilárneho výboru mladých Slovákov v roku 1938 a reštaurovaný v roku 1958. Pripomína sedliacke povstanie z roku 1831. Vtedy pre svoju biedu spôsobenú neúrodou, hladom a cholerovou epidémiou povstali slovenskí sedliaci, vtedajších uhorských dedín na východe terajšieho Slovenska, proti svojim pánom pre ich tvrdé zaobchádzanie so sedliakmi. Autorom súsošia je akademický sochár Jozef Pospíšil z Bratislavy.
