Description
English: Ponderosa pine tree, alleged to be a "hanging tree" in Jefferson County, Montana, near Clancy. Visible from Interstate -15. Tree long rumored locally to be the site of vigilante hangings in the territorial period, though there is insufficient documentary evidence to prove or disprove this legend. Fence built at base of the tree to deter vandalism
