English: (original description) These images were taken by Thomas T. Hammond during his trip to the Soviet Union. This specific photo features an exhibit from the VDNKH in Moscow on agriculture.
(clarification) The photograps was taken in front of present-day Cosmos pavilion, then used for Machine building industry display (not agriculture). The truck on the far left is a K-104 crane based on a YaAZ-210 chassis. The truck in the center is a pre-production prototype of MAZ-530. It was built early in 1957, and after completing trials and a road show, somewhere in summer 1957 it became a stationary display at the Exhibition. It is not clear when it was removed, perhaps shortly before the Brussels Expo 68 which began in April 1958. This narrows the date to summer 1957 ... spring 1958. See more historic photos at [1]. Small-scale of MAZ-530 continued to either 1963 or 1965, only around 30 units ever built. |
