Description
Deutsch: Schauerleute mit ihrem Vizen (auf der Tonne sitzend) im Hamburger Hafen. Das Foto zeigt so genannte „schwarze Schauerleute“ – die Männer arbeiteten als schwarze Kohlenträger. Schauerleute arbeiteten in Gruppen von je sechs bis zwölf Mann, angeführt von einem „Vizen“, der die Funktion eines Vorarbeiters und zugleich die des verlängerten Arms des „Baas“ hatte, also des Unternehmers, der die Schauerleute beschäftigte.
Français : Dockers avec leur chef d'équipe (assis sur le tonneau). La photo présente des dockers noirs – ceux qui travaillent sur les navires charbonniers. Le groupe comporte de six à douze hommes encadrés par un chef d'équipe, qui a à la fois la fonction de contremaître, et de bras séculier du Baas, le sous-traitant gérant les dockers.
