Summary[edit]

Description
English: Numerous brown Hamazaki-Wesenberg bodies (yellow-brown bodies)in sinus histiocytes of a subclavian lymph node removed incidentally from a 78-year-old woman during a vascular procedure. Hematoxylin-eosin, original magnification 1000X, oil immersion. H-W bodies, which are degenerate lysosomes, are of no recognized clinical significance. However, they are positive with the Gomori methenamine silver (GMS) stain and may resemble pigmented fungal structures, even so far as to demonstrate "budding."
