| Description |
A closeup of Half Dome from Mirror Lake, located right below. Half Dome never really had the "other half" - the rock was formed close to its current shape, and weather and glaciers did the rest. It is too snowy for visitors to climb Half Dome until the end of May. During the summer, a rope allows visitors to hike to the top of Half Dome, but only after having received appropriate permits. |
