Summary[edit]

Description

Haley Center located at Auburn University in Auburn, Alabama, USA. I snapped this photo (cropped slightly) with my Pentax K10D using Pentax's 16-50mm f/2.8 DA* SDM lens with a circular polarizer (to get the deep blue sky). I've been playing around with the 16-50 DA* and have not been too impressed with its performance wide open. For this shot I stopped it down to f/4 to see what would happen. The center sharpness is phenomenal. Edge sharpness is still potentially a little soft, though it's a bit tough to tell as the top of the building seems to be outside of the DoF. Otherwise, the color is good and the CAs are starting to pipe down a bit from the gleaming halos I have seen at f/2.8. The barrel distortion is a bit disappointing in this 16mm shot, though.

Shot in RAW and processed with Adobe Lightroom 1.4.1 using basic import settings. White balance is as shot.
