English: Hadrian's Wall National Trail near Greenfield The 135 km long Hadrian's Wall National Trail http://www.nationaltrail.co.uk/hadrianswall which runs from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend, largely follows the line of Hadrian's Wall Hadrian's_Wall. On this section the 18th century Military Road (B6318) runs along the line of the Wall itself, but the ditch on the north side of the Wall can be clearly seen.
For a distance of 8 Km, as seen on this photograph, the 156 Km long St Oswald's Way http://www.stoswaldsway.com/home.html which runs from Holy Island on the Northumberland Coast to Heavenfield near Hexham coincides with the National Trail. |
