English: Poem about a 111-year-old-man who married his first wife and they had a daughter together. The poem was on his gravestone and it was copied in 1630 by Jacob Matham on a copper plate and installed on the wall of the Haarlem City Hall cloister hallway. Nederlands: Grafsteen in Stadhuis Haarlem van Dirck Jansz. Bleser. Die oude man van 111 trouwde in Haarlem voor de éérste keer met een jonge vrouw en zij kregen een dochter. Deze tekst stond in vers op zijn grafsteen en werd overgebracht op een koperplaat in 1630 door Jacob Matham in opdracht van de Haarlemse Burgemeesteren (hij werd uit stadskas 72 fl. voor betaald). Het stuk is ingemetseld in de muur van de gang van het stadhuis op de plek van de oude predikherensklooster gangen (nu gallerij voor wisselende tentoonstellingen).
Het geen men ons van ouds van Bleser heeft doen weten, En door den tyd nu was verduisterd en versleten. Word met dat oud gedicht opnieuw eer voor gedaen, Dat so denk waerdig stuck niet kome te vergaen. Epitaphium ofte Graf-schrift van Dirck Janszen Bleser Tot Haerlem begraven in 't Jakobijnen Klooster. Hier leyt begraven, leser Den ouden Dirck Jansze Bleser. Honderd en elf jaeren Was hij oud na zijn verklaren Doe hy eerst soude trouwen Ter echt een jonge vrouwe. Den Pastoor seyde hem bout Ghy Dirck sydt seker veel te oud En komt waerlijck al te laet Om te voldoen den echten staet. Hij sprak Heer set ter zy Die hondert jaeren vry. En die elf alleen behoudt, So en ben ik niet te oudt. Dit houlijck is aldus volbragt, Met liefden sonder klagt. So hebben geleefd dese twee Twintig jaer met vree. Een dochter gewonnen Geestelijk gestorven eener Nonnen. |
