Description
Deutsch: Walter wurde am 30. März 1895 in Lübeck geboren und besuchte die Realschule zum Dom. Er verließ diese am 24. März 1911 nit dem Zeugnis der Einjährigen Reife und wurde am 25. April 1911 in das Lübeckische Lehrer-Seminar aufgenommen. Nach bestandener Lehrerprüfung trat er als Kriegsfreiwilliger am 14. August 1914 ins heimische Regiment und rückte am 18. Oktober 1914 mit dessen ersten Ersatz ins Feld. Der Lehrer war Träger des Eisernen und des Hanseatenkreuzes. Zur Beförderung zum Leutnant eingegeben erhielt der Vizefeldwebel und Offiziersaspirant am 23. Dezember 1916 bei den Kämpfen um St. Julien eine schwere Verwundung (Schädelbruch), die eine sofortige Überführung ins Feldlazarett erforderlich machte. Am 2. März 1917 verstarb er im Lübecker Reserve-Lazarett II.
