Summary[edit]

Description A U.S. Coast Guard Sikorsky HH-3F Pelican helicopter (s/n 1497) in flight over Coast Guard Air Station San Diego, California (USA), in 1981. Note that the air station is physically separated from the rest of the airfield, such that USCG fixed-wing aircraft must cross a busy, 6-lane city street to reach the runway; street light activation opens the locked gates to the airfield and the air station, and also stops traffic while aircraft are traversing the street.
