Português: Grupo Escultórico. Bronze, 204 cm. António Augusto Lagoa Henriques (Lisboa, 27 dez. 1923; idem, 21 fev. 2009) ingressa no Curso Especial de Escultura da Escola de Belas Artes de Lisboa em 1945 e, em Jul. de 1948, pediu transferência para a Escola do Porto. Aluno de Barata Feio, conclui o Curso Superior de Escultura em 1954, com a apresentação “de um trabalho em pleno relevo de duas figuras“, classificado com 20 valores. Bolseiro do Instituto da Alta Cultura, parte para Itália, onde fica 3 anos, grande parte dos quais em Milão, a trabalhar sob a orientação do escultor Marino Marini. Em 1958, ainda em Itália, é convidado pelo arquiteto Carlos Ramos, após decisão do Conselho Escolar, a ocupar o cargo de professor assistente de Escultura, tomando posse no inicio do ano seguinte. Em 1963, passa a Professor Efetivo de Desenho, cargo que ocupa até 1966, data em pede transferência para a Escola de Belas Artes de Lisboa, onde desenvolve uma importante ação pedagógica, no âmbito do ensino do Desenho, estando na origem da criação da disciplina de Comunicação Visual, em 1974, aquando da reestruturação dos cursos, tornando-se o O Mestre, como era tratado por todos, influenciando os seus alunos, como na Madeira o escultor António Rodrigues e outros, de quem foi uma referência. Cultor por excelência do desenho, quando do incêndio do seu atelier em 1970, que já era uma referência na boémia de Lisboa, assumiu o desastre, expondo na Sociedade de Belas Artes parte do espólio semi-queimado, de rara beleza e que foi um sucesso. Mantendo-se sempre ativo, desenhava continuamente, mesmo durante almoços e jantares, em papel de toalhas de mesa, etc. Dos prémios com que foi distinguido, destacam-se: o 1º e 2º prémio Soares dos Reis, Prémio Teixeira Lopes, Prémio Rotary Clube do Porto, 1ª Medalha da Sociedade Nacional de Belas Artes, Medalha de Honra na Exposição Internacional de Bruxelas, Prémio Diogo de Macedo, 1º Prémio de Escultura da II Exposição de Artes Plásticas da Gulbenkian, etc. |
