Description

Une monnaie en argent de Charles de Blois, prétendant au duché de Bretagne, sans atelier. Il s’agit d’une imitation du gros blanc à la couronne de Jean II, roi de France, émis d’août 1358 à janvier 1359.

A/ +[KARO]LLVS D[EI ]GRA [+BEnDITV (3 points) SIT (3 points) nO]me (3 points) DnI[ (3 points) DEI (3 points) HV (3 points) XP] Croix à queue fleurdelisée et recroisetée ne coupant que la légende intérieure.

R/ BRITAO [R]V (3 points) DVX. Légende dans le champ surmontée d’une couronne, le tout entouré d’une bordure de 12 ou 13 pseudolis cerclés et séparés par un I.

Poids : 2,24 g. Dimensions : 23,32 mm -25,01 mm Axe des coins : 3h Référence : J.100 Indice de rareté : Rare

Remarque : Acheté comme un demi-gros de Charles de Blois (Ref. J.101), il s’avère qu’il s’agit du gros car sur le demi-gros il n’y a pas de double légende alors qu’ici elle est clairement lisible. La monnaie est juste frappée sur un flan court mais épais (Épaisseur de 1 mm).
