English: Grinding Wheels - 1, Northern General Hospital, Sheffield. As well as the main buildings being named after people who made their fame and fortune in the Steel Industry ... there are, in various places around the Hospital Site, examples of machinery parts from the Steel Industry. These Grinding Wheels are close to the Samuel Fox building. The houses in the background are part of the Longley Hall Farm Estate ... the land was originally a farm which was owned by the Sheffield Union Workhouse and provided the Workhouse with Milk, Food and Work for the inmates. 1079487 1079478 1079491 |
