Français : Gravure allégorique sur deux aspects des Indes occidentales à la fin du XVIIème siècle vus par des Européens : un « Sauvage » demi-nu avec des plumes et un gourdin (peuplement) accoudé sur un trésor en pièces et lingots (richesse). Gravure publiée en 1698 après les pillages réalisé par les Français à Carthagène l'année précédente. Détail d'un almanach royal de 1698.
English: An allegorical engraving on two aspects of the West Indies at the end of the 17th century: a half-naked Indian with feathers and a cudgel (population) leaning on a West Indian treasure (wealth). Engraving published in 1698 after the looting of Cartagena the year before. Detail of a royal almanac from 1698.
