Description
English: A small part of the so-called exploration mine near Gorleben (district Lüchow-Dannenberg) for a planned long-term repository of German highly radioactive nuclear waste in a salt dome. The site is located a few hundred meters distance from the aboveground interim storage facility for German highly radioactive nuclear waste, which is the goal of annual "Castor" transports. (Both devices are often confused with each other or not distinguished in the public perception.)
Deutsch: Blick auf einen kleinen Ausschnitt des sogenannten Erkundungsbergwerkes am Salzstock Gorleben für ein geplantes Endlager hochradioaktiven deutschen Atommülls. Das Gelände befindet sich nur wenige hundert Meter Luftlinie entfernt vom oberirdischen Zwischenlager Gorleben, dem Ziel der meist jährlich stattfindenden "Castor"-Transporte hochradioaktiven Atommülls. (Beide Einrichtungen werden in der öffentlichen Wahrnehmung oft miteinander verwechselt bzw. nicht unterschieden.)
