English: Gorakhnath Temple, also known as Goraksanath, is located in Mrigasthali of Kathmandu. This temple is very famous. This temple can be reached from Pashupati's Aryaghat to Mrigasthali or from Guhyeshwari Temple. The environment of this temple is very calm with greenery all around. There is also a large trident and Nandi near this peak style temple. The temple has a very artistic style. At the top of the temple, there is a very attractive gajur covered with gold. The temple is open only in the morning and evening for worship, archana, aarti. Devotees visit the temple through a small hole in the door. Gorakhnath is a historical deity of Nepal. It is associated with the origin of Yin along with the legend of Gorakhnath in Gorkha district of Nepal. According to the Devmala genealogy, when King Narendra Dev came to Kathmandu to ask for alms, he was despised by no one here for begging. Later, King Jayasthiti Malla awakened Gorakhnath in 514 A.D. Behind the temple, there are saints, monasteries and dhunis. This famous temple was built by Jayasthiti Malla. There are about 16 temples of Manakamana, Bhairav, Shikhar style Badrinath, Kedarnath etc. in this temple complex.
