Summary[edit]
| Description |
English: The Golden Fleece is two storey corner hotel with a hipped tile roof. The roof is punctuated by three small gables located over recessed balconies on the upper level. The central gable is infilled with a large single paned window. The roofline is interrupted above the splayed corner by a vertical masonary element capped with a curved pediment and flanked by a single scrolled bracket on each side. Square fluted pilasters and multi-paned windows with lourved timber shutters at the first floor level are indicative of the Colonial Revival style detailing. A cantilevered awning wraps around both street facades.
Some alterations were made c.1955 by Ancher, Mortock and Murray. The building was renovated in 1975 by Tooth & Co. The ground floor has been extensively altered both internally and externally.
