Het beeld werd in 2002 speciaal voor Nieuwpoort gemaakt door de Belgische schilder en beeldhouwer Antoon Luyckx (Antwerpen 1922). Het bevindt zich niet langer op de opgegeven plaats. Het kreeg in 2019 kreeg het een plaats in het Maritiem Park.


The statue was made especially for Nieuwpoort by the Belgian artist Antoon Luyckx (Antwerp 1922). It is no longer at the indicated place. In 2019 it was relocated at the Maritiem Park
