Summary[edit]

Description
  • Italiano: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931), Ragazzo napoletano con gioielli e tenia. Numero di catalogo: G 0221. Cm 30x40.
  • English: Wilhelm von Gloeden (1856-1931), Neapolitan youth wearing jewels and a headband. Catalogue number: G 0221. Cm 30x40. There exists also a version of this shot in the "smaller size" format (cm 12 x 16.5), mirrored. The same lad appears in photos taken on Pluschow's terrace in Naples, and in Pompeii. This scan is based upon a modern reprint taken from an original negative by Gloeden on carbon paper, in its turn drawn from the original glass negative. This procedure caused a flipping (mirroring) of the image.
Date The shot features a model appearing only in the images taken in Naples and Pompeii, therefore it dates from before 1898.
