Summary[edit]

Description
English: A projection of cities of population greater that 1000 from https://public.opendatasoft.com/explore/dataset/geonames-all-cities-with-a-population-1000 as of January 2024, projected onto a icosohedron, similar to the Dymaxion projection. The north pole of the icosohedron does not map to the north pole of the earth, rather there is a 175 degrees rotation about the Earth's z-axis (north pole) and then the north pole of the icosohedron is mapped to 35N, 55E (rotation first about x-axis, ie 0N90E, then north pole again).
