С. А. Антонов Девушка, ощипывающая цветок. 1842 Холст, масло. 89 х 72 Справа внизу: С. Антонов I 18-42. Пост. в 1931 из магазина № 68 Ленторгсина Ж-3742 За эту картину, называвшуюся «Русская девушка, ощипывающая цве- ток», в 1842 Антонов получил звание свободного художника. Изоб- ражая сцену из жизни простого люда, художник, происходивший из санкт-петербургских мещан, вольноприходящий («посторонний», как писали в документах того времени) ученик Академии художеств, боль- шое внимание уделил не столько психологической характеристике образа, сколько деталям. Наметив на заднем плане печь, словно бы сложенную из гранитных блоков, живописец тщательно выписал де- вушку с косой, в нарядном сарафане, занимающуюся гаданием на лепестках цветка. Изысканный букет, стоящий на столе крестьянского дома, кажется сошедшим с картин голландских художников, которые Антонов мог видеть в Эрмитаже и тщательно воспроизвести, демон-

стрируя свое мастерство.
