Description
Deutsch: Alkandros, Klimene, Phaon und Sappho befinden sich im Tempel von Leukas, wo gerade die feierliche Weihung des Brautpaares stattgefunden hat. Alkandros gebietet den Kitharisten, ihre festlichen Hymnen anzuheben, als Klimene ihm mitteilt, daß Sappho unter den Anwesenden ist und sich erboten hat, einen Weihesang zu singen. Alkandros und Phaon sind aufs äußerste bestürzt. Klimene ruft Sappho herbei und zeigt ihr ihren Gatten. Sappho offenbart ihre Liebe zu Phaon und Klimene erkennt in ihr die gefürchtete unbekannte Nebenbuhlerin und erneuert ihre Klagen, während Phaon sich überzeugt, daß Sappho ihn noch immer liebt.
