Justice diptych for the Council Chamber of Bruges Town Hall. Panel 2 - According to an old Persian story, Sisamnes was a corrupt judge who was skinned alive on the orders of King Cambyses. The judicial throne from which Otanes, Sisamnes' son and successor, was henceforth to dispense justice is covered by skin. |
