Summary[edit]

Description

The training ship Georg Stage (the 2nd) build in 1934, is a three-masted full-rigged ship with a length of 34 meters. The schools website has additional specifications and stuff (in danish).

The first Gerorge Stage was build in 1882. She is now renamed Joseph Conrad, owend by "The Museum of America and the Sea" and moored in Mystic Seaport, Connecticut, US. I recommend this fine article about the ship and her dramatic history.

In the background is Sælen (The Seal), and she's what's left of the proud danish navy submarine force.

"After her return from the Persian Gulf (in 2003), she was decommissioned and handed over to the Royal Danish Naval Museum (Orlogsmuseet). The Seal is now placed next to the old navy headquarters at Holmen in central Copenhagen where she is open to visitors."
