Description
English: Former synagogue, Wiesbaden-Schierstein, Hesse, Germany
Deutsch: Ehemalige Synagoge, Wiesbaden-Schierstein, Hessen. Einweihung 1858. Zerstört am 10. November 1938. Abriss in den 1960er Jahren. Errichtung der Gedenkstätte 1968. Inschrift:

Diese Rosette schmückte die Ostwand der Synagoge, die bis zu ihrer mutwilligen Zerstörung am zehnten November 1938 an dieser Stelle stand und Mittelpunkt der Mitglieder der Juedischen Gemeinde war bis diese in die Vernichtungslager verschleppt wurden. Diesen Gedenkstein errichtete die Stadt Wiesbaden zur Erinnerung und steten Mahnung.

"Denn von Zion geht die Lehre aus und das Wort des Ewigen von Jerusalem: Kein Volk wird gegen ein anderes Volk mehr das Schwert erheben und sie werden nicht mehr das Kriegshandwerk erlernen". Diese Worte schrieb der Prophet Jesaja am Anfang des zweiten Kapitels seines Buches vor etwa zweitausendsiebenhundert Jahren - MCMLXVIII.
