Description
English: A Yellow-winged grasshopper (Gastrimargus musicus) caught in a barbed-wire fence. This species is most easily identified by its yellow back wings with black bands, but they are usually only visible when in flight (when it also makes a loud clicking noise). Compare for example the stationary grasshopper in the "Other versions" field. This image with the wings visible was captured in the few seconds during which the unfortunate grasshopper's head was stuck in a barbed wire fence it had flown into.
Français : Gastrimargus musicus, un Sauteriau, pris par un fil de fer barbelé. Le caractère le plus remarquable de l'espèce est la couleur jaune zébrée de noir du dessous des ailes. Ce caractère est invisible au repos (voir l'image dans "Autres versions"). Cette photo a été prise durant les quelques secondes où l'animal s'est débattu contre un fil de fer barbelé qu'il venait de heurter en vol. Photo prise près de Bredbo, en Nouvelle Galles du Sud (Australie).
