Description
English: General audience: stomach cancer.

Medical audience: gastric adenocarcinoma - with poor-moderate differentiation (left part of image + spreading beneath non-malignant tissue), prominent intestinal metaplasia is present -- characterized by the presence of goblet cells (this is considered a risk factor for the development of adenocarcinoma), some normal foveolar epithelium is present. Gastric antrum (no parietal cells are seen, epithelium starting to form finger-like projections as seen in the intestine (villi)).
