| Description |
English: Gas exhausters, Hawthorn Coking Works, Murton These steam turbine driven exhausters pulled the gas off the coke oven batteries. This side of the plant was just like a traditional town gas plant.
The plant closed in 1984 and was demolished in 1989. It was past its best when I visited. |
