English: Photographs of the Skagit River Hydroelectric Project constructed between 1918-1961.
The Gorge Dam and Powerhouse were built by Seattle City Light and completed in September of 1924. The Toonerville Trolley was a converted 2 1/2 ton truck with rail wheels and a trailer formerly used as a bus between Seattle and Camp Lewis during World War One. Caption on image: 5151. 7-17-21 Caption below image: "Toonerville Trolley" - but operated by gas. Enroute from Rockport to Newhalem. PH Coll 45.1-14
