Summary[edit]

Description
English: Collotype, Divided back, 14.00 x 9.05 cm. Ganga Mahal Ghat is one of the holiest ghats at Varanasi and was built in the 1830s. Note how the hand-tinting has highlighted, not too carefully, the sun umbrellas in the foreground. A scattering of red, from a dhoti to palace overhangs to a portion of a boat, adds sparkle to the postcard.
