Svenska: Galgberget strax norr om Visby innerstad har kvar de tre medeltida pelarna. På dessa låg träbjälkar. Där hängdes brottslingarna i järnkrok genom hakan, annars i rep. Kropparna var vida synliga, även från havet. Man tror att avrättningsplatsen var i bruk fram till 1845.
Galgberget är sedan 1998 ett kommunalt naturreservat. Det ger Visbyborna och turister tillgång till oexploaterad natur.
English: Galgberget, the Gallows Hill, right outside the walled City of Visby still retains the three medieval pillars. These supported horizontal timbers. There offenders were hung by an iron hook through the chin or by ropes. The bodies were visible from afar and from the sea.
A Natural Reserve was formed in 1998. It gives residents and tourists access to unexpoited nature.
Deutsch: Auf dem Galgberget, dem Galgenhügel, direkt vor der Stadtmauer von Hansestadt Visby sind noch immer die drei mittelalterlichen Säulen zu sehen. Diese stützten horizontale Balken. Dort wurden Täter an einem Eisenhaken am Kinn oder an Seilen aufgehängt. Die Leichen waren weithin und vom Meer aus sichtbar.
1998 wurde ein Naturschutzgebiet gegründet. Es bietet Bewohnern und Touristen Zugang zu unberührter Natur.
