Shops and buildings on the corner of Heath Street and Holly Hill, Hampstead, London Borough of Camden. I didn't realise there was a black plaque here - The Clock Tower. I can't really read what it says. The black plaques are installed by the Hampstead Plaque Fund. I found their map of plaques and found the Clock Tower, but the map appears to be wrong. The plaque says "This well loved Hampstead landmark started life as the local fire-station. A look out was kept from the clock tower." It's now a Nationwide Building Society, and is a <a href="http://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/en-478183-nationwide-anglia-building-society-great" rel="nofollow">Grade II Listed Building</a>. But it wasn't the focus of this photo. There is a big clock tower at the top - seen on Google Street View! There's an unfortunate water droplet on my lens! Hertfordshire GOC's 9 February 2013 walk, which took place in Hampstead, London. We passed various interesting buildings in the area and various parts of Hampstead Heath. It was a fairly wet, dull day.
