English: Spain - Guardia Civil Nissan 4x4
Some Police vehicles seen parked up during my recent vacation to Catalunya (Catalonia, Spain). The Policia Local vehicles relate to the Ajuntament (Municipality) of Vila-Seca - between Salou and Tarragona - which covers the resort of La Pineda where we were staying. The Guardia Civil (GC) vehicle was spotted at the nearby Reus Airport where their duties seem to be restricted to within the Airport perimeter. The GC, although providing a general policing function outwith the big cities elsewhere in Spain, do not do so in Catalunya where the Mossos d'Esquadra ("State" police of that Automonous Area) provide that function. The National Police (Cuerpo Nacional de Policia) were also at the Airport, where their duties involve passport checking. --Introduction |
