Description
Bahasa Indonesia: Futus Garuda (bahasa tetun) berarti kain rajutan motif burung garuda. Kain ini dirajut oleh kaum perempuan di Kecamatan Kobalima, NTT. Awalnya benang dirajut atau diikat menggunakan tali rafia dan dibentuk menjadi motif burung garuda, kemudian dicelupkan ke dalam air daun taun yang sudah dicampur dengan kapur dan rempah-rempah selama dua malam. Hasil dari rendaman benang yang diikat motif burung garuda itu warnanya akan menjadi hitam dan akan dijemur di bawah sinar matahari. Sesudah kering, dibuka kembali ikatan sehingga yang tersisa hanya motif burung garuda yang telah rapi. Biasanya, motif ini akan dijadikan kain adat untuk laki-laki dan perempuan. Kain ini biasanya dipakai pada saat upacara HUT Kemerdekaan Republik Indonesia, acara adat istiadat dan kebudayaan menari likurai dan merongeng, serta bisa juga dijadikan baju, kemeja dan rok. Lokasi: Kampung Rumah Adat Suku Manehitu, Desa Sisi, Kecamatan Kobalima, Kabupaten Malaka, NTT.
