Català: Taula solta d'un desaparegut retaule, de petites proporcions, dedicat molt possiblement a la vida de Maria, del qual només resta aquesta taula i un fragment de polsera amb els dos monjos cartoixans. Procedent, sense cap dubte, de la cartoixa de Vall de Crist, la taula arriba al Museu per mitjà del col·leccionista Gonzalo Valero.
Es concep en un paisatge obert, amb muntanyes amb talls de roques fantàstiques, arbres i plantes. Un camí es perd en llunyania entre suaus corbes i per ell discorren àngels en amigable conversa. En primer terme, la Verge cavalca sobre l'ase i torna el seu rostre cap a Sant Josep que camina darrere. Maria porta en els seus braços al Nen. Sant Josep porta tubrucos, camisa, aljuba i capa sense capillo. Cobreix el cap amb capell de sol i porta el garrot a l'espatlla i, en la seua mà dreta, una vareta. El ruquet s'atura i rosega les herbes del sender. un àngel acompanyant els precedeix, mentre altres dos, més avançats en el camí, es detenen, es tornen i conversen entre si. |
