Description

Met dit model werd in augustus 1983 voor het eerst een koe automatisch aangesloten en gemolken op de Praktijkschool voor de Veehouderij en het Weidebedrijf in Oentjerk (later IPC Dier en vanaf 2002 PTC+ geheten) Het werd door de aldaar werkende uitvinders Rinke Oenema en ir. Roelof G. Middel ontworpen en onder hun leiding gebouwd. Zij hebben er in 1985 octrooi op verkregen in de USA en in zes Europese landen. Het bijzondere van het oorspronkelijke ontwerp is gelegen in het gelijktijdig aansluiten van alle vier de spenen. De huidige melkrobots sluiten de spenen (nog) een voor een aan.

In 1994 is het model ter ontwikkeling afgestaan aan de firma Gascoigne-Melotte. Het heeft tot 1995 geduurd voordat enkele Nederlandse firma's een doorontwikkelde en betrouwbaar werkende melkrobot op de markt konden brengen. Het jaar 1997 wordt wel het jaar van de doorbraak van de melkrobot genoemd.
