Description
English: Frederick JACKSON. Private 13637 Royal Warwickshire Regiment. Born 1875 to John and Pamela Jackson, nee Humphries. 1881 residing with his mother at Silver Street, Wotton under Edge. His father was not at home. 1891 with his widowed mother at Dyers Brook, Wotton-under-Edge, occupation, silk cleaner. 1901 with his mother at Sinwell, Wotton-under-Edge. The 2 December 1901 he married Ada Leah Beckerton at St Mary the Virgin, Wotton-under-Edge. 1911 residing with his wife at Holywell, Wotton-under-Edge, occupation, farm labourer. He joined up at Horfield Barracks, Horfield, Bristol on the 4 August 1914 aged 41 years and 5 months, as Private 211637, 3rd Gloucestershire Regiment, occupation, general labourer. He previously served with the 4th Gloucestershire Regiment 10 years. 10 August 1915 he was transferred to 1st Royal Warwickshire Regiment as Private 13637. He embarked for Egypt 20 August 1915 to 7 November 1915, the following day he was at the Royal Warwickshire Regimental Depot He remained at the depot until his discharge. He was medically discharged from the army 15 May 1916 to his wife at Ludgate Hill, Wotton-under-Edge. His disability was calculus (cystoliths) in his bladder. When he applied for his medals, he was residing at Potters Pond, Wotton-under-Edge. Died at the Royal Infirmary, Gloucester City 23rd September 1931 age 56. At rest in grave 182, Wotton-under-Edge Cemetery, Gloucestershire.
