Summary[edit]

Description
English: Photograph no.8209 by Frederick Christian Palmer of Swindon (d.1941), looking north-west on Church Green, in Stanford in the Vale, Oxfordshire, England. The house on the immediate right is the gabled Orchard House, dating to 1635, at the time unlisted, but from 1952 Grade II* listed. Both adjacent buildings exist today, the farther being The Anchor public house. The brick wall is as survives today, as is the direct access to the road without pavement. The white fence enclosing the garden of the middle house has been converted to a stone wall and its telephone pole has moved a little towards the pub.
