Description
English: Don Francisco de Sentmanat and Zayas was born in Havana, Cuba, on November 6, 1802 and died in Jalpa, Tabasco, Mexico, on June 12, 1844. He is a Cuban soldier who, in 1840, went to the State of Tabasco, Mexico, where he is involved in several uprisings to restore federalism in the state. President Antonio López de Santa Anna named him lieutenant-colonel of the Infantry and governor of the region of Tabasco in 1842. Sentmanat will oppose Santa Anna. He was finally beaten and captured by General Pedro de Ampudia, who ordered his execution at Jalpa on June 12, 1844. Married in New Orleans, Louisiana, United States, on June 20, 1831 with Rosa Philippe de Marigny de Mandeville (1813-1866), Don Francisco de Sentmanat's granddaughters are lyric artists, Ana Maria Alta Gracia Antonina Eustis (1863-1946) and Lydia Edith Eustis (1871-1957).
