Description
Deutsch: 1542 erreichte der Jesuit Franzisco d' Xavier die Perlenfischer von Parara, missionierte und taufte zehntausende.1545 reiste er weiter nach Madras.Er starb 1552 und wurde 1622 heilig gesprochen.Von 1640 bis 1660 fertigte der Künstler Francisco d' Zurbaran eine Serie von heiligen Personen. In der linken Hand hält er das Kreuz, in der rechten Hand die Pilgermuschel mit dem Taufwasser. Dies Gemälde von F. d' Zurbaran wurde 1919 auf einer Auktion irtümlich als Francois d' Assisi angeboten.
